A suspected drunk driver comes crashing into a western Kentucky deputy's home. It happened Friday night in Ohio County.
"It was the loudest sound I've ever heard," said Ohio County Sheriff's Deputy Justin Dockery.
Ohio County Sheriff's Office says Steven Phelps was driving drunk when he crashed his truck into the Dockery's living room.
"It looked like an explosion. It felt like an explosion," said Dockery.
Dockery says he saw Phelps crawling out of his wrecked vehicle.
"His simple motor functions wasn't exactly what they should be. I could tell he had been drinking quite more than he was admitting to."
Dockery says he waited with Phelps on what was left of his front porch until an on duty deputy arrived.
"Honestly despite everybody's beliefs I wasn't upset with him. I was glad that he was ok. I was upset at the situation."
Steven Phelps is held in the Ohio County Detention Center on charges of drunk driving, criminal mischief, and wanton endangerment.
