One man was killed and one person was taken into custody after a shooting at Purdue University in West Layafette, Indiana.
The Layafette Journal and Courier quoted Purdue's Provost, Timothy Sands saying one fatality resulted from the shooting.
Police believe there is only one suspect and that the person is not cooperating in the investigation. The names of the victim and suspect were not released, but police said they believe the suspect knew the victim.
The university sent out an alert around 11:00 this morning about a reported shooting near the electrical engineering building.
Students on campus were told to stay inside, but that advice was later lifted.
