Utilities Urging Conservation

KU and LG&E officials say they're facing increased energy demand due to our frigid temperatures.
KU and LG&E officials say they're facing increased energy demand due to our frigid temperatures.  As a result, the utility systems are asking customers to conserve energy for the next day or two.

Here's a few tips:
  • adjust your thermostat to the lowest comfortable setting--if you're gone more than four hours turn it down several degrees as well.
  • wear extra layers inside.
  • close your fireplace damper and doors
  • run your dishwashers--dryers and washing machines only when full
