WASHINGTON (AP) -- Millions of veterans could soon become casualties of the partial government shutdown.
Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki says about 3.8 million veterans will not receive disability compensation and more than half a million vets or surviving spouses won't get pensions next month if the impasse continues into late October.
Shinseki is to testify today to the House Committee on Veterans Affairs.
