Vectren plans to spend $70 million to $90 million upgrading current emissions equipment.

The energy company needs approval from the state to make the upgrades on it's coal-fired electric generating units.

The upgrades will take place over the next two years to comply with new EPA mandates taking effect in 2016.

Vectren tells us no cost will be passed to the customers until 2020.
