Water Main Breaks Plague Evansville

The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility is still working to fix more than twenty water main breaks around the city.

Director Allen Mounts said the breaks have had an impact on inventory. Crews are waiting until Monday to fix a break at the corner of Vogel Road and Ruston Avenue. 

Mounts said he expects to have the water main breaks under control in the next few days. 


There are eight current precautionary boil advisories throughout Evansville:

-Cass Avenue from S. Frederick St. east to S. Weinbach Avenue
-East Olive Street from S. Willow Road west to the dead-end
-East Mill Road from 800-831 E. Mill Road and from 801-857 Harman Court
-North Evans from Pfeiffer Road to Peters Drive East to North Denby to dead-end
-Vogel Road from St. James Blvd. East to Villa Drive and Ruston Avenue North to Tennessee Street
-East Indiana Street between Fares Avenue and harlan Avenue
-Sweetser Avenue between Lodge and Weinbach; includes 1700 block of South Norman Avenue and 1700 block of South Frederick Avenue off Sweetser Avenue
-Vann Avenue between Sweetser & Pollack Avenue; includes Conlin Ave west off of Vann to Southeast Blvd and Southeast Blvd west to McConnel Ave.
