Owensboro city officials give the go-ahead for more work on a new senior center, days after more damage is discovered.

Parts of the ceiling in the Elizabeth Munday Center's auditorium fell off this past weekend. Work has been okayed on a design for the replacement to the activity center.

Center officials say they've moved events that were held there to other parts of the building.

"When we came in on Saturday," said Tom Vittitow, "the water had pooled and pushed several holes into the roof. And we're waiting for a structural engineer to see if we got permission to go back into the building."

The new center will be built at Moreland Park next to the Sportscenter. The project's expected to cost more than $8 million.
