Honors and Recognitions

Last year Eyewitness News was honored by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) with a national Edward R. Murrow Award for Sports Reporting. Today we learned we are once again a contender for that same national award as Eyewitness News has been recognized for journalistic excellence with a regional Edward R. Murrow Award. The winning entry, produced by Reporter/Anchor Jordan Vandenberge and Photojournalist Ryan McCurdy, was the touching story of the Edwards County, Illinois high school girls volleyball coach who, despite her fight with terminal breast cancer, coached her team to the state championship.
