WARRICK COUNTY, In (WEHT) – State Road 61 at Roeder Road was closed earlier Monday due to a serious crash between a truck and a motorcycle. A medical helicopter has since arrived at the scene.

Police reports said that the accident happened around 4:23 p.m. A 2009 Harley Motorcycle was going northbound on State Road 61. The cyclists name was Douglas Pearson, 45. A 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pulling a trailer was driving eastbound on Roeder Road by Ronald McDaniel,62.

According to authorities, the accident happened when the Silverado crossed
State Road 61. The motorcycle hit the rear passenger wheel of the Silverado which brought the bike to a stop.

The police don’t believe that alcohol was involved as Mr. McDaniel tested .000 at the scene. Mr Pearson was taken to a local hospital by St. Vincent Statflight. Mr. McDaniel was also brought to a local hospital for a chemical test due to the Indiana Implied Consent Warning for a driver involved in a serious bodily injury crash.

The Warrick County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating this accident. They were assisted at the scene by the Indiana State Police, Boonville Fire Department, and Warrick EMS.
