EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Evansville African American Museum announced two new hires on Thursday.

The museum said that Rita Prior was selected as the Coordinator of Museum Experiences by a search committee.

Prior will be responsible for establishing the organization’s programming and educational components.

“With the addition of Mrs. Prior to our institution we will be able to implement a new set of programs designed to enlighten, entertain and educate.” said Dr. Ashley Jordan, Executive Director of EAAM. “Her passion for students and community organizing will help our efforts to be a convener within the community.”

Prior said she is honored to have this opportunity.

The museum also announced its selection of Jalessa Eskridge as Director of Development.

She will be responsible for coordinating fundraising and membership activities.

“We are delighted to have Jalessa on board,” said Dr. Jordan. “She has the right personality and skillset to work with community and corporate leaders to advance our fundraising and marketing activities.”
