HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Henderson Municipal Golf Course closed in July after 100 years, but now the course is getting some use again.
Desire’ Smith presented a proposal to the city commission to allow the course to be used as a public park and a course for Henderson County cross country teams to practice and hold meets.
The city has not made a final decision but is letting teams use the property with a special permit.
Smith said there were over 180 kids signed up to compete in the first meet at the course last week.
A meet was also held on Tuesday with 10 teams.
