Bernice T. Salee of Henderson served his country for more than 30 years before retiring from the US Army.
Sallee was a veteran of World War Two, Korea, Vietnam and the Cold War.
Before being drafted for World War Two, Sallee worked as a welder in Evansville and fabricated parts for the LST.
Sadly, Bernice died in October of 2011 at the age of 85.
