BOONVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) A candidate for Boonville City Council is contesting the results in his primary election race.

Chad Pryor lost to Steve Byers in a contest for the District 4 Boonville City Council seat in the Democratic primary.

In a formal complaint filed on Tuesday, Pryor claims several votes were counted for ineligible candidates and the vote totals in the Boon 7 precinct did not match the votes tabulated.

Pryor also alleges that incorrect district map data was used, leading to ineligible voters being included in the race’s totals.

The complaint lists several voters who allegedly were able to vote in the race, despite not living in the district.

According to the complaint, Pryor is asking for a trial, in hopes of getting a special election or a recount if possible.
