Kentucky Wesleyan College will officially welcome Dr. Thomas Mitzel as the 35th president of the College during a news conference on Wednesday. (Photo courtesy kwc.edu)

Kentucky Wesleyan new college President Dr. Thomas Mitzel spoke with students staff and others Wednesday morning in Owensboro.

He will replace Bart Darrell who retires last year.

Mitzel said he wants the college to be for the community and continue being involved.

Mitzel will start a listening tour to hear from students and Owensboro residents and work on a 3 year plan for the college.

Dr. Thomas Mitzel was named the 35th president of Kentucky Wesleyan College in September 2019 and began his role in January 2020.
