Evansville holds Christmas Parade on North Main

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Santa made a stop on North Main Street today in Evansville during the annual Christmas on North Main Parade.

The parade started rolling at 2:30 p.m. at the LLoyd Expressway and traveled down North Main Street to Garvin Park.

People positioned around the parade route had a lot to take in including, clowns, cars, marching bands, Santa, and our very own Eyewitness News Elves, Jessica Wimsatt and Gretchen Ross.

“It really means a lot, I love all this stuff. I think I’ve been in the parade a couple of times as a kid, She’s four today, so we’re gonna get her in a couple of times also hopefully,” said Trey Feldpausch.

“I like the experience, he has an absolute blast and loves getting all the candy, seeing everybody dressed up he really likes that,” said Merisa Harkrader.

After the parade, spectators got a preview of Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights. Awards were also given out for “Best in Parade,” “Best Marching Unit,” “Best Float,” “Best Vehicle Unit,” and “Best Band.”
