Former US Marine breaks Guinness World Record for planking

Local

CHICAGO, Ill. (WEHT)- A former US Marine and DEA Supervisory Special Agent, George Hood 62, officially broke a Guinness World Records title.

After a grueling 8 hours 15 minutes and 15 seconds, he achieved the record-title for the longest time in the plank position (male). In total, he did around 2,100 hours of planking in preparation for this attempt.

George was inspired by Five15 Fitness, who co-sponsored the event, a gym that was established to address mental illness through exercise and support.

A Guinness World Records Adjudicator was on-site to verify the attempt.
