Holocaust survivor Eva Kor honored by governor with remembrance day

(WEHT)- A survivor of Auschwitz, Eva Kor is honored on the anniversary of the Holocaust. Governor Eric Holcomb declared January 27th as Eva Education Day.

Kor called Indiana home. In 2007, Kor helped draft legislation that mandated all public high schools across Indiana to educate students about the Holocaust. Kor also founded a Holocaust museum in Terre Haute, Indiana.

World leaders and others are joining a number of Holocaust survivors in marking the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
