UPDATE: 18 year ISP veteran shot in standoff


JEFFERSON COUNTY, In. (WEHT) — We now know the name of the Indiana State Police officer injured during a standoff Saturday.

ISP said Master Trooper Joseph Livers was shot in the leg after Wade Roark opened fire from a Madison area home.

Wade Roark is facing multiple charges after the stand off shooting in Jefferson County.

Police responded to the 8000 block of East State Road 56 after receiving reports of a male suspect firing shots inside of a residence.

Livers, a 18 year veteran of ISP and member of the SWAT team, responded to the scene.

The investigation showed Roark fired shots from a hole in the basement wall hitting Livers in the leg.

Officers assisted the other occupants of the home to safety.

Roark was transported to the Jefferson County Jail where he is being held pending the filing of charges in this case.
