3 People Hurt After Accident on Highway 57

A bad accident shut down a Tristate highway Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
This happened around 9:30 Wednesday night on Highway 57 and Foundation Boulevard.
Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputies tell us a Fed-Ex truck was trying to turn onto Highway 57 when a Grand Cherokee ran into the back of the truck, causing it’s rear axle to fall off.
The Grand Cherokee ended up on fire in a ditch.
The Fed-Ex driver and other witnesses were able to get that fire out and pull the driver and passenger out.
But while that was going on, a third vehicle ran into the back of the Fed-Ex truck.
Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputy Matt Corn says “The Fed-Ex driver explained that he was pulling off of foundation and he lost some traction due to the wet conditions, and he wasn’t able to complete his turn as fast as he wanted to.”
We’re told the two people in the Grand Cherokee were taken to Deaconess in Evansville with leg and face injuries.
The driver of the third truck was treated at the scene.
The Fed-Ex driver was not hurt.
