Teams from as far away as North Carolina headed to Madisonville for the town’s 33rd Annual Dust Bowl Saturday.

Eric Logan, the Executive Director of the event, claims this as the largest dust bowl in the Tri-State, but says he wanted to make it more than just a basketball tournament.

They’re also registering people to vote, giving free health screenings, and holding a job fair.

Sunday, they will also give free haircuts.

Logan said, “it’s really personal you know, being from here and having the opportunity to take an event that we grew up on and just making it bigger and better.”

All proceeds benefit free youth arts programs in Madisonville.
