If you’re planning a Memorial Day weekend road trip, expect plenty of company on the roads.
More than 38 million drivers are expected to hit the highways and interstates for the holiday.
That would be the highest number of road travelers since 2005 and the second highest on record.
AAA says all this travel is expected because of low gas prices.
They are the nation’s lowest in more than a decade.
The national average of $2.28 is $0.46 lower than last year’s average at this same time.
More cash in Americans’ pockets and a better job market are also fueling the road trip forecast.
