Ash Wednesday is the day for Catholics around the world to give something up for 40 days, but one Connecticut Archbishop is asking parishioners to give up their smart phones.

The campaign for the Lent season is an effort to get parishioners to cut the cord.

The Archbishop even created a name for the campaign called “Shut off your phone and leg God call your heart.”

Members of the church said if 40 days isn’t possible, they’ll at least try to disconnect on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
