Aurora Evansville has successfully moved into its new location and Thursday an open house is being held.
The open house will last from 4-6 p.m. at the new 1001 Mary St. location.
Light refreshments will be served.
Eyewitness News is told the project was a long time in the making. The staff will have more than twice the space than they did at the old location.
All of the local trade unions came together on this project to provide the materials and labor free of charge.
Evansville’s homeless rate has continued to grow in recent years and with that comes the need for more help for those who’ve fallen on hard times.
Since 1988, Aurora has helped more than 1,000 men, women and children in the Evansville community every year.
The group also helps refugees and others transitioning from prison into the community.
