Violence erupts in Baltimore as protesters are now facing off with police.

This comes after hundreds of people attended the funeral of 25-year-old Freddie Gray, who died of a spinal injury a week after police took him into custody.

Groups have been pelting officers in riot gear with rocks and bricks in the northwest Baltimore area.

At least seven officers have been hurt. Baltimore’s police captain says one officer is unresponsive, and others have broken bones.

Police are investigating threats they call credible that gangs are teaming up to, quote, “take out” officers.
