(WEHT) – Democratic candidate for Kentucky governor Andy Beshear said on Thursday that he wants to expand gaming to make Kentucky more competitive and fund public pensions for public servants like teachers and first responders.

Beshear said he wants to legalize casinos, capitalizing on fantasy sports, sports betting, and preparing for online poker.

Beshear said his plan will direct 100% of tax revenue to fund the pension system for public servants like teachers and first responders.

Beshear is running against incumbent Republican Governor Matt Bevin.

In July, Bevin criticized Beshear’s support for expanded gambling.
