EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – A ribbon-cutting was held Wednesday for Evansville’s newest grocery store.
The Crossroads IGA next to Harrison High School cut the ribbon on its facility at 10 a.m.
The store was in the planning and construction stages for several years.
Part of the work for the new store included eliminating the hill where the building stands.
Its early planning caused controversy as many in adjacent neighborhoods spoke out against the development.
Houchens Industries will operate the store.
