Catholic church addresses list of accused priests with sexual abuse allegations

The list reveals priests with credible allegations of sexual abuse of minors who served in the Diocese of Evansville.

By releasing the list, the Diocese hopes it will help in the healing process for those affected and to help keep minors safe.

Sunday services were held for the first time since that list was released.

This morning at Resurrection Catholic Church the allegations were addressed.

Two priests on the list were associated with this church, one  in 1975 and the other in 1992.

During the homily, the priest said he’s in a place right now full of feelings of anger, frustration and helplessness. He can’t begin to imagine the pain these individuals inflicted on others.

He said he wishes it never happened, but it did and now it needs to be addressed.

Parishioners were saddened to hear a few of the names on the list were associated with their church and are beginning the healing process.

The Diocese is also hoping by releasing the names other victims will have the strength to come forward.
