Celebrating, Remembering St. Paddy’s Day


Saint Patrick’s Day paired with March Madness packs Tri-State bars. A day most enjoy with beer and basketball.

While many are celebrating, others are remembering.

Ri-Ra Irish Pub on Evansville’s riverfront says St. Paddy’s day is their biggest day of the year.

Bartenders will pour thousands of pints of Guinness, joining millions around the globe.

Bartenders say it takes 119 seconds to pour a perfect pint; first halfway to the harp, let it sit, then you top it off.

Drinking responsibly is the aim of River City Yellow Cab. They’re accepting vouchers for free rides.

Joining efforts of Evansville Police, where officers are out in force looking for drunk drivers.

The Vanderburgh County’s Sheriff’s Department will be joining EPD tonight with extra patrols, and plan to have sobriety checkpoints through the weekend.

While the color of the day is green, it’s orange dominating for others, at C.K. Newsome Center.

People, not celebrating but remembering the damage drinking and driving can do.

Logan’s promise is joined with other families as part of “Dunk Driving Victims Remembrance Week”
in Evasnville.

It’s a somber reminder to celebrate carefully.
