Chalk art pops up around Henderson

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — During these hard times, some Tri-Staters are looking to brighten people’s day.

Chalk artwork has started popping up around Downtown Henderson on railroad overpasses and even inside Sunset Park by the river. Balloons with hearts and words of encouragement can be seen in some of the art.

Downtown Henderson Partnership executive director Lindsay Loscato and Henderson Tourist Commission executive director Abby Dixon spent part of Thursday morning putting up a new mural and say they are receiving a huge positive response from the community.

“I think everyone can use a little positivity right now so when they walk by and see encouraging messages and the bright colors and they take their picture, it’s just spreading a lot of joy and a lot of smiles and we could all use that right now,” Dixon said.

Both women say they’ll likely continue to draw, even after the pandemic is over.
