Changes Made to Evansville Vanderburgh Comprehensive Plan

The Area Plan Commission decides to wait another month before voting on the comprehensive plan for Evansville and Vanderburgh County.

On Thursday night, the commission met to discuss the comprehensive plan; a long range policy guide for land use and future development of the community through the year 2035.

Three previous public meetings were held for input, and revisions were made to include public opinion.

“We had more than 80 comments. I think overall some of those were not incorporated into the plan,” said Area Plan Commissioner Blaine Oliver.

Comments that were incorporated into the plan changed the language or the policies in the draft.
Oliver says the city sidewalk system was one topic that received numerous comments.
Three other committees must still vote on the plan.
