Evansville’s east side eating scene is adding a new place to dine.

The sign outside the now closed Taco Tierra on South Green River road says a restaurant called Sam’s Southern Eatery is coming soon.

According to the company’s website Sam’s specializes in southern cuisine. It opened its first location in Shreveport, Louisiana in 2008 and has since grown to more than 51 locations in 9 Southern states while employing more than 750 people.

Sam’s serves seafood and describes its menu as “Home Style Southern Cooking.”

We have reached out to the company to find out when they open, so, for now, all we have to go on is “coming soon.”
