Chris Winstead receives EMS Director of Year award

HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – A Henderson and Union County Emergency Medical Services Director has received an award.

Chris Winstead received the Western KY Director of the Year Award from the Kentucky Ambulance Providers Association (KAPA).

Winstead was nominated by EMS directors throughout several regions. He was presented with the award at KAPA’s annual conference in Lexington.

This award recognizes two directors every year, one from Western Kentucky and one from Eastern Kentucky, who stand out and work hard for their communities.

Winstead became a Paramedic in 1991. He became the EMS Director for hospital-based ambulance services in Union County in 2010 and added the responsibility for Henderson County in 2016.

His affiliation with Methodist Health goes back to 1994 when he began serving as EMS Director for Webster County ambulance services.
