During Monday night’s meeting, The Evansville City Council discussed about possibly increasing wages for members of the Teamsters Local 215 union by an additional 1 percent than what was budgeted for 2018.

City Councilman Jonathan Weaver says the council has to come up with more than $200,000 than what is in the budget.

Weaver says the dollars are tight and doesn’t think it’s fair to the other non-bargaining employees who only get 1 percent.

This matter will be discussed and possibly voted on during city council’s next meeting on April 23.
