Community One is celebrating a significant milestone. Volunteers have completed the 400th home repair project in the Evansville area.

Community One is designed to connect and mobilize the people and resources in Evansville by restoring deteriorating houses and revitalizing under resourced neighborhoods.

In 2012, Community One began housing restoration in response to the poor housing conditions throughout a large portion of Evansville’s urban neighborhoods. These conditions were caused by factors like aging housing stock and economic barriers.

In response to these needs, Community One launched a web-based platform that connects homeowners with housing repair needs to community volunteers who can meet their needs by completing simple home repair projects.

Some of the home repairs include general maintenance and repairs, exterior painting, cleaning yards, repairing doors and windows, cleaning out gutters, and more.
