INDIANA – Indiana Congressman Larry Bucshon commemorated the 75th anniversary of D-day by traveling to France with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, minority leader Kevin McCarthy.
Now back home, Bucshon says it was a humbling experience to be on the ground of Normandy for the anniversary.
He visited the grave of a Hoosier at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial.
The row of graves there cover 172.5 acres and more than 9,000 of our deceased soldiers.
He was able to stand near a gun embankment overlooking Omaha Beach, where Allied Forces once stormed.
Topping off his trip, Bucshon also visited the Suresnes American Cemetery and Memorial outside Paris that shelters the remains of US soldiers from both world wars.
