Cops Connecting with Kids is expanding into Henderson. The group, founded by several members of the Evansville Police Department, is expanding in only its fifth year.

The goal of the group is to establish better relationships with children and students in the community.

One of the hallmark events the Evansville group holds is a trip to Walt Disney World each year.

The Henderson Police Department and the Henderson County School Corporation will be working together to support the new group.

A rally is being held by a passionate group of Jeep owners to launch the new Cops Connecting with Kids chapter.

The Back the Blue Jeep Rally Ride on July 28 will benefit the Henderson group.

The event runs from 4-8 p.m. at Audubon Chrysler.

The Evansville Area Jeepers will gather in Mt. Vernon to travel with a police escort to Audubon Chrysler as one unit.

Once at the dealership, activities will include an off-road Jeep course, Jeep flex photo opportunities, a BBQ dinner, music, prizes, and much more.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Cops Connecting with Kids program.
