CDC providing funding for coronavirus response

Coronavirus Watch

(WEHT)- The CDC announced Wednesday that it will provide over $560 million dollars in funding to help state and local governments respond to the coronavirus.

In the Tri-State, Illinois will receive an additional $14 million from the CDC, bringing their total to over $17 million in CDC funding. Indiana will receive over $10 million from the CDC while Kentucky will see nearly $7.5 million in funding.

The funding comes after President Trump signed a bill Friday to provide the federal government $8.3 billion to fight coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.

Right now, there are not any confirmed cases of coronavirus in our Tri-State area.
