EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) The Need a Neighbor program has helped over 300 hundred people since their formation.

Need a Neighbor is an online program where people can submit a need or volunteer to help others by fulfilling the need for them.

Averaging nearly one hundred needs fulfilled a week, the program is currently in the process of helping 50 additional people.

Eric Cummings says that they have received a variety of requests so far, but have worked to fulfill them all.

“There have been calls that say ‘Hey, can you just call in and check on me? Can you pray for me?’,” Cummings said. “I think just groceries and essential supplies has been the number one requests.”

They will continue to assist people that apply for assistance until the pandemic ends.
