Ky. (WEHT) — Governor Andy Beshear announced 147 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 1,149 in the state. Beshear says that is the largest number they’ve reported in a day, but believes the past two days have had low reporting numbers and their three day trend is lower than the previous three days.

Beshear also announced seven new deaths, for a statewide total of 65.

During his Tuesday briefing, Beshear again talked about the Green River Correctional Facility, and says it is the only facility with inmates testing positive. There are 14 cases at Green River, nine inmates and five staff members.

At Western State Hopsital, Beshear reports 9 patients and 4 staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.

The governor says he would be in favor of mail-in voting if the coronavirus is still an issue.
