Gov. Beshear announces K-12 school recommendations in response to COVID-19 Delta variant

Coronavirus Watch Kentucky

KENTUCKY (WEHT) – Governor Andy Beshear released new recommendations on Monday for Kentucky schools regarding face masks.

Beshear recommends that all unvaccinated students and employees should be required to wear masks in schools. He also recommends that all students younger than 12 should wear masks. Beshear says schools wishing to prevent disruption in classrooms and athletics should require everyone to wear masks in school, whether they are vaccinated or not.

Gov. Beshear and the state officials agreed Kentucky’s challenge is that the delta variant spreads quickly and aggressively among unvaccinated people of all ages.
