OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) — An Owensboro company is looking to use a device designed for food safety to stop COVID-19 from spreading.
Hollison officials say they’re adapting their food safety bioaerosol sampler to help find COVID-19 in high-risk areas.
It’s currently used to find pathogens in food production.
Company officials say when it’s paired with the right technology, it can find the virus in air systems in businesses and other places.
“We want to get everybody back to business. It’s good for us. It’s good for everyone else. And we realized we’re monitoring the quality of air in our own facility. This would work in so many applications,” Hollison CEO Kevin Humphrey said
Hollison officials say they still need to see what other technology the sampler can work best with to help provide fast results.
