Beshear: 309 new COVID-19 cases at Green River Correctional Complex, Perdue testing ahead

Ky. (WEHT) — Gov. Andy Beshear reported 625 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday. 309 of those cases are from Green River Correctional Complex. Everyone at Green River was tested last week.

Beshear reported 5,822 total cases with one probable. 14 more Kentuckians have died from COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 275 with one probable.

Dr. Steven Stack with the Kentucky Department of Public Health says everyone at the Perdue meat packing facility in Ohio County will be tested Wednesday. Stack says after the testing, they will work with Perdue on mitigation plans.

Beshear says guidance is now posted for each of the areas that can reopen May 11.

Beshear reported just over $2 million has been raised for the Team Kentucky fund.
