Ky. (WEHT) — Monday was the first day of Phase One of Healthcare Services Reopening in Kentucky.

Phase 2 will begin May 6 and will allow outpatient/ambulatory surgery and invasive procedures. All patients must have COVID-19 testing and each facility needs 14 days of all necessary PPE

By May 11, Beshear is asking everyone in places reopened and in public to wear masks. He says individuals will not be cited or arrested but asked to put on masks. Beshear says it is mandatory for business employees to wear masks and if a business is not masking, that could be grounds to temporarily shut down that business.

Beshear says there are 87 new cases and five new deaths. At Green River Correctional Complex, Beshear says there are 10 more cases- seven staff and three inmates.
