Four Indiana universities issue travel bans due to coronavirus

Indiana (WEHT) Officials at four Indiana universities are temporarily banned from traveling to China due to the coronavirus.

Indiana University, Purdue University, Ball State and Notre Dame have implemented the travel bans. They say this is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. State Department.

More than 17,500 cases of the virus have been reported in China so far. There have been 11 confirmed cases in the U.S., but health officials are still waiting on results from dozens of tests.

There have been 361 deaths from coronavirus. No deaths from the virus have been reported in the U.S.

At least 169 cases have been reported in 25 countries.
