Kentucky recommends schools expand in-person learning in March

Coronavirus Watch

FRANKFORT, Ky (WEHT) Gov. Beshear is recommending all school districts, including private schools, expand in-person classes beginning March 1. If not all school staff in a school have not been vaccinated by that time, Beshear recommends in-person classes begin seven days after the second dose has been administered.

Lt. Gov. Coleman said the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) issued a comprehensive, 136-page manual, KDE COVID-19 Guidance 2.0, which will assist with the shift back into school buildings.

On Monday, the state expanded vaccine eligibility to those age 60 and over. The state’s regional vaccination sites will also move to phase 1C on March 1.
