Indiana and Illinois casinos to close for two weeks

Coronavirus Watch

(WEHT)- A day after officials at the Tropicana in Evansville said they have no plans to close down the hotel or the casino, the Indiana Gaming and Horse Racing Commissions announced all licensed gaming and racing operations will close for at least two weeks starting Monday morning.

More information can be found here.

The move comes a day after the Illinois Gaming Board announced all ten Illinois casinos will close as well. In a press release sent Friday, the board says the public health of patrons, casino employees, Illinois Gaming Board staff, and others is of “paramount importance.”
