FRANKFORT, Ky. (WEHT) – Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is recommending all churches not hold services as the COVID19 virus continues to spread.

“I don’t believe whether you go to church during this period of time is a test of faith,” said Governor Beasher in Frankfort Wednesday morning, “I believe God gives his wisdom to protect each other and we should do that. And I’m going to recommend that our churches across Kentucky cancel their services for this weekend.”

Beshear also suspended visitor access at all state prisons saying people should avoid large crowds.

Schools in the state are aware they may be asked to close on short notice.

There are less than 10 cases of COVID19 confirmed in Kentucky as of Wednesday morning.
