Study: Illinois, Indiana ill-equipped for handling pandemics

Coronavirus Watch

(WEHT)- A new report from Zippia puts Illinois and Indiana among the ten worst states to handle a pandemic like the Coronavirus.

However, Kentucky was ranked as the 15th best state for pandemic preparedness. The study looked at a wide array of factors including population density and vaccination rates.

North Carolina is considered the least prepared for an outbreak, with the study citing low funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and an “unfavorable ratio of hospitals to patients.” Vermont, meanwhile, is considered the best equipped for a pandemic.
