(WEHT)- The Transportation Security Administration is now allowing passengers to carry 12 ounces of hand sanitizer in their carry-on bags indefinitely. This is four times as much hand sanitizer than was previously allowed. The TSA says the policy switch is an effort to help people clean their hands during the COVID-19 outbreak.
However, getting that much hand sanitizer could be a hard task. Online sales for hand sanitizer spiked more than 800 percent while in-person sales spiked more than 200 percent. Retailer Bath and Body Works says it is sold out of hand sanitizer online but recommends consumers to call local stores for stock.
