(AP) Democratic Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey has suspended his 2020 presidential campaign, thanking his supporters via Twitter on Monday.

Booker cited experienced polling and fundraising struggles, which prevented him from participating in the latest televised debate.

Booker’s exit from the presidential race further narrows the once two dozen-strong field, which now stands at 12 candidates.
